Venus in Aries: Am I good enough for you?
Desire is how you know you're alive. It is all what life is about, but with desire often comes despair, fear and doubt we are not good enough. Venus' passage in Aries tests our ability to fight for it
Venus, the goddess of love and desire, rules over all forms of life and creation and thus it rules over our relationships and connections, but you already know that. Venus transiting Aries, a sign it is not very comfortable in, brings up old wounds about being deserving of what or who we want.
Venus in Aries introduces doubt on its way as it conjuncts Jupiter and Chiron. You might be thinking that Jupiter aka the great benefic in astrology might make this feeling easier and you’re probably right, but Jupiter has two faces to its energetic manifestation, the first of which is about expansion, luxury and what’s beyond the scope of our imagination, striving for more and seeking it with all the faith we can possibly muster, however the other side to Jupiter is a joker, it inflates things, makes you doubt yourself and whatever challenges come your way feel like mount Everest to a fish.
Jupiter exaggerates everything the good, the bad and the ugly, but with Venus and Chiron in the mix, it is purely exaggerating the wounded part of us about connections and our worth.
Venus is a soft planet, it reaches out for comfort, it seeks its peak pleasure through attracting instead of chasing and that’s why Aries is not comfortable -but also not doomed- in Aries. Aries energy is movable, it needs action, it wants to manifest outwardly to others and the world and it is quite prone to chasing.
While this energy is fantastic for initiating relationships, socializing and taking it to the next step, it is -in essence- fleeting, in the moment kind of connection and it fizzles out just as fast as it started.
The kind of abrupt endings this transit brings into relationships and sexual connections tests old wounds related to our worth. In the depth of it, as human beings, our survival depended very heavily on how adorable we are as babies because this is how our needs got met and if we did not have a secure connection with our care givers, hectic connection can become addictive especially if the sexual element is involved with Venus in Aries. We seek a similar dynamic that recreates a promise of finally winning the safety and attachment of someone similar to our caregivers.
This feeling of being abandoned or alone is insurmountable, but with the unexpectedness of will they won’t they, we surrender our power to this promise of desire and we feel locked out of heaven.
This transit reaches its peak on March 3rd and while there’s a disconnection that brings fear, there’s also the element of Jupiter bringing bittersweet beginnings. The doors of heaven crack a little and a silver lining shines through this upcoming week.
The challenge with this transit is how to respond right to a Martian Venus. Do we launch into appropriate action or do we slip back into our old patterns? whether these patterns are devastated wanton or giving our power over to someone else to give us the appropriate satisfaction we very much need to survive.
